چکیده
A study of the mean-square displacement amplitudes (MSDA) of the T(Al,Si) and 0 atoms in ordered framework silicates and aluminosilicates indicates that the sizes, shapes, and orientations of the displacement ellipsoids in these crystals are consistent with a rigid bond model. In particular, the MSDAs of the T and 0 atoms in the direction of the TO bonds tend to be equal and to increase with temperature. When this relationship does not hold, it appears to be related to the presence of static disorder. This observation leads to criteria that may be used to detect disorder in crystals. A simple rigid bond model is presented that, to a reasonable degree, describes the ellipticity and the orientation of the displacement ellipsoids of the bridging 0 atoms.

Geomorphic and structural assessment of active tectonics in NW Alborz
Alborz Mountains is a region of active deformation within Arabia-Eurasia collision zone. The study fault system in western Alborz comprises abundant evidence of active faulting accompanied by occurrence of historical earthquakes. Active tectonics of Manjil-Rudbar fault zone whose movement caused destructive 1990 Manjil-Rudbar earthquake was concentrated in this article through geomorphic and st...
متن کاملPost-Triassic normal faulting and extensional structures in Central Alborz, Northern Iran
This paper presents structural evidence of extensional activity in Central Alborz during Mesozoic. The structural evidence of homogenous early stage stretching such as layer-parallel to oblique boudinage of Permian and Triassic rocks in various portions of the study area accompanied by extensional-fibrous fractures were followed with more advanced extensional features. These extensional structu...
متن کاملSpatial Association of Groundwater Resources and Quaternary Faults Using Weight of Evidence Method (WOE) Case Study of Sirjan Plain
Aims & Backgrounds: The faults and tectonic structures have a major impact on groundwater resources and they play more important role in these factors, which by creating a displacement in the sequence of layers, lead to creation of aquifers. Determination of the relationship between faults and groundwater resources can help to identify new water resources. The aim of this study is to investigate...
متن کاملAtomic Insights into the Melting Behavior of Metallic Nano-catalysts
In the present study, molecular dynamics simulations have been utilized to provide fundamental understanding of melting behavior of pure Pd and Pt nanoparticles with the size of 10 nm in diameter, both free and graphene-supported during continuous heating. The embedded atom method is employed to model the metal-metal interactions, whereas a Lennard-Jones potential is applied to describe the met...
متن کاملObservation of Stacking Fault Tetrahedral in TWIP Steel
Low stacking fault energy face centered cubic (FCC) materials contain characteristic defect structures. Stacking fault tetrahedral are one of those rare structures that occur under special experimental conditions. For the first time, stacking fault tetrahedral were observed in Fe-30Mn-3Al-3Si twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel. Their presence resulted from a quenching heat treatment.
